GET Network to boost digital economy through education

Focused on educating and arming individuals with the skills needed for e-commerce success in the digital economy, the Global E-Commerce Talent (GET) Network was established in collaboration with universities and training institutions from Malaysia and around the world.

It builds on Alibaba’s GET Program to offer a full education ecosystem to its network members and bring awareness, innovation and entrepreneurship to cross-border e-commerce through first-rate education and training.

Moreover, it aims aims to enable young entrepreneurs and SMEs to better compete in global markets through up-to-date theoretical and practical training for local education professionals on e-commerce ecosystem, operation and entrepreneurship.

According to the announcement made by the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia is the initiative’s founding member and makes up the largest number of educational institutions participating from a single country.

The institutions include the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE), the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and 18 public and private universities, colleges and training agencies within the network.

The initiative was formalised in the presence of 1,500 educators and government officials at the 11th annual China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, in a ceremony officiated by China’s Counsellor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yang Jun, Guizhou Province Governor Shen Yiqin, ASEAN Secretary-General Datuk Lim Jock Hoi and Alibaba Group Vice-President Brian Wong.

Renowned universities and training institutes from across the region were gathered to jointly establish the network.

Together, high-quality courses will be developed, teachers will be trained and teaching platforms will be strengthened to empower their educational institutions to participate in the construction of the future digital economy.

By empowering educators around the world, a platform was created for the youth and the SMEs so they can understand and learn how to succeed in this dynamic industry.

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) is a founding member and has recognised from the very start that this program could make a big difference for e-commerce businesses and talent in Malaysia.

The students are able to receive the most relevant, up-to-date courses and learnings for e-commerce and digital business success.

Given how dynamic the industry is and how quickly demands for new skills are emerging, this will be an ongoing process, particularly as Malaysia’s Digital Free Trade Zone continues to grow in importance.

Access and assistance will be given to members in setting up a GET Start-up System Incubator, its Online Learning Platforms including course materials and multimedia learning assets and simulation platforms, as well as the online community of experts and its online and offline teacher training.

Thailand’s Burapha University find that educators play an important role in the development of the digital economy. Educators must ensure that the next generation of e-commerce talent have what is needed to help businesses succeed and evolve.

Certified trainers use the resources and knowledge acquired to integrate their learnings into e-commerce courses available at their respective institutions.

65 education partners have already benefitted program. It has trained more than 260 lecturers, 1,600 SMEs and almost 7,000 students from varied countries such as Australia, China, India, Israel, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Turkey.

But the strongest demand for the course came from Malaysia and Thailand.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
