Tenants can pay rent
at selected convenience stores and supermarkets by using a QR code
provided by the app. They can also check their rent position and rent payment history for the past 6 months.
The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) announced today that it
will officially launch the first mobile application for public rental housing
tenants, the "iHousing" app, on December 13.
A spokesman for the HA said that the "iHousing"
app will provide a wide range of services, introduced by phases.
During the first phase, users can access rent enquiry and
payment services through the app. Tenants can enjoy the following services
anytime and anywhere, starting December 13:
In order to encourage tenants to download and use the
"iHousing" app, the HA will organise a series of promotional events
between December 2017 and April 2018, including a lucky draw for public
housing tenants who have registered on the HA website before the end of
November 2017 for downloading the app in advance between December 1 and
December 10. They will have a chance to win a HK$50 supermarket shopping
voucher (100 winners). More lucky draws will be held for all registered tenants
during the promotional period.
The "iHousing" app can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple
App Store or Google Play. The link to download the app can also be found
on the HA/Housing Department website at www.housingauthority.gov.hk.
The app supports devices running on Android (version 4.4 or
later) and Apple iOS (version 9.0 or later). After downloading the app,
tenants registered with the HA e-Services accounts can login to
"iHousing" with same user accounts.
