Tony Chapman is the Director of Cyber Security Engagement and Prevention with the Office of the NSW Government Chief Information Security Officer (GCISO). Tony’s responsibilities include leading the establishment and operation of the information and cyber security ecosystem across NSW Government, and promoting a collaborative and prevention-focused cyber security culture. Most recently, Tony led the development of the soon-to-be publicly released NSW Cyber Security Strategy. He has been instrumental in strategic policy development, identifying issues and working collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop and implement tangible solutions, including on cyber-related policy and strategies.
Tony has held various senior managerial positions with the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, including Chief of Staff and Senior Executive Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer. Tony has specialised in the areas of strategic policy, government relations and stakeholder engagement. In 2014, Tony was the recipient of the Geoffrey Bowen Memorial Individual Award in recognition of his excellent and longstanding contribution to the then Australian Crime Commission Board and Senior Executive. Tony has represented the Australian Government in various national security, law enforcement and whole-of-government forums, shaping corporate policy and driving major projects.
