Associate Professor Brett Aimers is an
influential and future thinking public safety and disaster management
professional. He holds several academic appointments including at James Cook
where he provides expert disaster management advice and guidance in relation to
policy and practice and systems and concepts. Brett was recently involved in a
multi-national project, led by the World Health Organisation, exploring global
best practice for operating public health Emergency Operations Centres.
Professor Aimers is the immediate past Deputy Chief Commissioner for St John
Ambulance Australia and was responsible for patient safety and clinical
governance. Brett Aimers is also currently a Coordinator, Emergency Capability at Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEJTR), Victoria.
