David has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Sydney, with majors in Computer Science, Mathematical Statistics and Pure Mathematics. David has extensive IT strategy and architecture experience with a passion for the delivery of major IT programs of work. His experience ranges from the delivery of ERP implementations to the delivery of significant technology transformation projects.
Most recently he has program managed the relocation of 1,300 staff, including the implementation of a full activity based working environment for the Department staff. This included the implementation of a number of ICT-as-a-service contracts where appropriate. He has a wealth of overseas working experience in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand. Currently, he is employed as the Chief Information Officer for the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet.
He was previously employed as Chief Information Officer for the Department of Environment and Climate Change. Before that, he was attached to Roads and Traffic Authority NSW, University of New South Wales and Accenture (Andersen Consulting).
He is also currently a member of the NSW Government ICT Leadership Group. His professional interests include new technology including gadgets and wearable technology, activity-based working, as well as personal and collaborative productivity technologies.
