Mr. Hondros is the Chief Information Officer at the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage.Jack is a leader of business change through the application of ICT technologies with experience working with a wide group of WA Government stakeholders and executive groups. He has through his career delivered many large ICT projects and managed organisational change in many WA Government Departments. He is an innovative leader in applying technology as a transformation agent for business change and is passionate about the focus of technology to the provision of digital public services, particularly in the Planning Sector.
In his current role as CIO at the Department of Planning, WA, Jack has initiated a transformation program to uplift the Department’s technology capability to support the automation of the Planning System through the development of ePlan. Jack worked for over 10 years in a previous role with the Department of Treasury and Finance in the ICT Major Projects division to deliver ICT corporate and business solutions, major ICT contracts and projects. Jack was responsible for leading the development of the WA Government Campus Network (GCN) as the Program Director in 2011 to 2013. This project today services over 6,000 public sector staff as a common digital platform that has delivered flexibility and savings to the Public Sector through the development of a multi-tenanted secure, shared networking and telephony service.
