Jon Lau is a Deputy Director at the National Supercomputing Centre Singapore, a petascale supercomputing facility for academic, research and industry users in Singapore.
Jon started his career as a research engineer focusing on Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence at the applied R&D arm of the National Computer Board. From 2003 to 2007, he was with the National Grid Office and spearheaded the Grid Computing in Singapore. In 2008, he moved on to IDA Singapore (now known as IMDA) and drove industry adoption of grid services. In 2012, he established the first Government Cloud in the region before joining NSCC in 2015 where he currently oversees strategic policy and planning.
Jon obtained his Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1994 and Masters of Technology (Artificial Intelligence) from NUS in 1999.
