Themed ‘Etika Teras Kewartawanan Mapan,’ HAWANA 2024 celebrates the intersection of ethics and technology in journalism, exploring the role of innovation in shaping the future of media.

Organised by the Ministry of Communications in collaboration with the Sarawak Government and Bernama, HAWANA 2024 embodies the spirit of innovation and collaboration, bringing together media practitioners from across the globe to exchange ideas, share experiences, and chart the course for the future of journalism.

The Bernama exhibition, boasting state-of-the-art broadcasting equipment like microphones and cameras, alongside a compact radio studio, has become a hub for visitors of all ages, enthralling them with its immersive offerings. Through captivating interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities, attendees are invited to step into the shoes of radio presenters and newscasters, experiencing the exhilaration of live broadcasting firsthand.

Over at the Borneo Cultures Museum, technology takes centre stage, enhancing the visitor experience and bringing history to life in unprecedented ways. Through the innovative use of interactive displays and immersive technology, the museum offers a journey through time, showcasing the evolution of human settlement in Sarawak from the Palaeolithic era onwards. Visitors are transported back in time, exploring ancient artefacts and witnessing pivotal moments in history unfold before their eyes.

The museum’s interactive features serve as a catalyst for engagement, captivating visitors with their lifelike simulations and realistic depictions. From virtual tours of ancient caves to interactive exhibits highlighting Sarawak’s rich cultural heritage, technology bridges the gap between past and present, offering a multifaceted learning experience for all.
